Desert Overlord
The gatekeeper of Act 2, lurking deep in the Desert Tombs. The Desert Overlord (also known as Sibuna in community lore) is a massive scorpion-like entity with poison DoT attacks and a burrow-strike that hits the entire party. Unlike the Skeleton King's add-management fight, the Desert Overlord is a pure DPS race with a tight enrage timer — take too long and his poison stacks become unsurvivable.
Strategy: Poison resistance cubes are mandatory for Hell difficulty and above. Slayer with high crit build excels here — the enrage timer favors burst over sustain. Save your movement skill for the burrow-strike telegraph (ground cracks appear ~1.5s before impact). Torment variant drops Arcana-tier crafting reagents used for mid-game cube synthesis.
